The Word of
Prophecy. |
||
|
One third of the Bible is prophecy.
The word of prophecy is the method God uses to tell us about the future. In the
first place it is Gods own domain, but through the gift of prophecy human beings
may have the opportunity to know something about the hidden secrets.
When it comes to the Old Testament
the prophecies point forward to the events that are going to happen in New
Testament times. So many prophecies about the birth of Christ, his life,
death and resurrection were fulfilled in every detail. The prophets of the
Old Testament pointed out the birthplace of Christ, the town he should grow up
and work out from.
In the psalms and in the books of the prophets there are detailed descriptions
of his suffering, how His body was mistreated
when he was scourged and hanged up on the cruel cross.
The New Testament has many prophecies
about our own time and our future. That fact makes prophecy very exciting
and special far above human literature. Over and over again the New
Testament points forward to the fact that Jesus shall come back to this world
the second time.
Endtime prophecies.
When Jesus was taken home from the Mount of Olives, two angels appeared and said
to the disciples: "Why do you look up toward heaven. Jesus, who is
now taken from you to heaven, in the same way he will come down.
The rapture.
Before that time, "the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a great
shout and with the voice of the archangel. Then all the christians
who are in paradise, will be changed .getting their resurrection bodies.
After that "we who are alive. will receive our new bodies, and together with the
resurrected saints we will be caught up in the clouds, up in the air to
meet the Lord. From that moment we will be with the Lord for evermore.
"Comfort each other with those words." Paul writes.
Prophecy about the great tribulation.
In the gospel of Matthew , chapter 24, Jesus prophecies about times of war
and rumours of war, extreme hunger, earthquakes a.s.f. During this terrible time
in this world. the church of Christ, also called the bride of Christ is in
heaven celebrating the wedding feast.
A person which John the apostle calls the Antichrist will arise and deceive
many. He will blaspheme the godhead and kill all who are not
obedient to his stern orders. The only way to be saved in this
tribulation time is to refuse receiving the number of Antichrist, which is
666, on forehead and the back of the hand.. This number is a token of a
eternal covenant with Satan himself.
The prophecies of the New Testament point also forward to great and terrible
wars in this time. The last is the great battle in the field of
Armageddon. In the middle of this battle, where millions are killed, Jesus
comes to set his feet on the Mount of Olives, judge the nations in the
valley of Joshafat and open up for the Millennium, the thousand years of
peace.
Millennium and the new heaven and the new earth.
Then the kingdom of heaven will be established on this earth for thousand years,
foretold in many books of the Old Testament. In the end of this wonderful time
for our world, the great, white throne will be erected. Before that throne
every human being not having their names written in the Book of Life, will be
thrown into the Lake of Fire.
That is the final judgment.
So comes the event when God the great creator shall make a new heaven and
a new earth. We will not forget that He has already, before that time.
created the New Jerusalem, coming down from heaven during the Millennium.
Come to Jesus today.
The most important thing just now is to receive Jesus as your personal Saviour.
Believe in your heart that Jesus died just for you, confess Him with your
mouth, and you will be saved, the Bible says.
The books of prophecy will soon be closed for ever. When it is still open,
kneel down before your Saviour. Do it now,
because one day, the Bible says, all knees shall bow before him,
and every tongue shall confess that He is the Saviour of this universe.
The sad thing is however, that the possibility to be saved is
forever gone. Come to Jesus now, before it is
eternally too late.
